- Two Egyptian Alabaster Canopic Jar Lids
- Painted alabaster
- Heights 4 1/4 and 3 7/8 in. 10.8 and 9.8 cm.
one in the form of baboon-headed Hapy, protector of the lungs, the other of falcon-headed Qebusenef, protector of the intestines, each wearing a collar, the eyes, ears, and other details of the second lid finely painted.

Condition
Head of Qebusenef, the falcon, has a large chip in collar area as shown and a lesser chip adjacent to it on left, ink or crayon numbers, 570/8C, written underneath in modern times, and the same in pencil on back, lesser chips and abrasions include on end of beak, black pigment may be enhanced in areas but seems to be stylistically well done and correct, areas of discoloration in stone.
Proper right side of head of Hapi, the baboon, recently damaged and now repaired and restored with some losses, including much of proper right side of head behind ear and back of head mostly restored, large areas of restoration on snout and proper right eye, some retouching to paint very possible, numbers written on back include 570/8D.
