Condition
Condition Report from Alvarez Fine Art Services, Inc. (9/26/13): Overall this black ink and pencil on paper is in stable condition. It was executed on what can be described as "craft" (Kraft) paper, which is not a paper ever intended for art. Mild planar distortions are seen throughout as it is evident that most probably this work was once rolled. The verso shows hinge residues, and numerous areas of old scotch tape and repairs mending the many tears visible to the recto. There are
approximately 7 tears along its four edges, the biggest one found in the upper left corner area, one that reaches from the right edge into the workers left forearm (this is the only one that is in the actual drawing itself), as well as the others of varying lengths. In addition there are several curved semi-fractures throughout the paper most probably results of improper handling such as fingers pressing upon a rolled piece of paper. Visually, this work is in stable condition. At the right center edge there is a small stain which seems to come from the presence of of old scotch tape used on the verso that has now migrated to the recto. There is also another small stain visible in the bottom right quadrant near the left leg.
