Condition

The canvas has been relined. There is very minor surface dirt and scattered traces of light studio detritus. There are one or two minor traces of loss to the extreme edges and canvas overlap, most visible down the right hand side, most probably in line with a previous re-stretching of the canvas. There is slight flattening to some of the raised elements of thicker impasto, with a tiny isolated fleck of loss to a raised tip of white impasto in the bottom left corner, only visible upon close inspection. This excepting the work appears in very good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals a c.10cm. horizontal line of fluorescence and retouching to the bottom left quadrant in line with a repaired tear. This has been very sensitively executed. There are further scattered traces of fluorescence and probable retouching to the white. These have also been executed in a very sympathetic manner. Housed in a tight wooden tray frame.
