Condition

The following condition report has been kindly prepared by Jane McAusland FIIC, Conservator and Restorer of Art on Paper, Nether Hall Barn, Old Newton, Nr. Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 4PP. Support This oil on paper work by Scott is on a sheet of wove paper, which has been laid down onto a chip board. This arrangement and the action of light have darkened the paper and this is evident on the areas not worked over in pigment. There is a small loss to the paper visible on the lower right edge. Medium The medium is in a good condition. Conservation Note It appears that it is possible that this work by Scott could be lifted from its chip board backing. In my opinion this might be a good idea, working towards its longevity. Note: This work was viewed outside studio conditions. Float-mounted in a tight, dark wooden box frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
