Condition

Original canvas. The canvas undulates very slightly in the upper left hand corner, only visible upon extremely close inspection. There are a few scattered traces of very minor surface matter, studio detritus and handling marks visible upon close inspection. There is an old surface perforation in the upper left hand quadrant, partially visible from the reverse, but this excepting the work appears in very good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals a small area of fluorescence and retouching in keeping with the aforementioned perforation mark. This has been executed in a very sympathetic manner. Housed in a tight white wooden tray frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.

Catalogue Note

'I am an abstract artist in the sense that I abstract. I cannot be called non-figurative while I am still interested in the modern magic of space, primitive sex forms, the sensual and erotic, disconcerting contours, the things of life. '
