Catalogue Note

The arms are those of Leaves of Kensington, Middlesex, impaling another, possibly Sutton of the same place, probably for John Leaves whose will was proved in London on 2 November 1734 (National Archives, PROB 11/668/10). His son, Henry, also of Kensington, was married in July 1744 at the Chapel Royal, Kensington, to the eldest daughter of William Watson Buller of Great Ormond Street, ‘a young Lady of fine Accomplishments, with a Fortune of 6000 l.’ (The London Evening-Post, London, 31 July – 2 August 1744, p. 1c). W.W. Buller, a London merchant, formerly of Soho Square, died in 1750.
