Condition
Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down, t-hinged to the mount at the top edge. There are artist's pinholes in all four corners. The sheet has darkened with age, and there are remnants of glue from previous mounting on the reverse. There is a small spot of paint loss in the grey area to the left of the horse's knee and a very fine hairline surface abrasion in the lower right quadrant, faintly visible in the catalogue illustration. Apart from three very small tears at the extreme left and right edges and some slight handling creases, this work is in good condition.
Colours: In comparison to the printed catalogue illustration, both the paper tone and the black ink are stronger in the original.
