Condition

One of the side foliate elements with a light surface scratch along the perimeter edge (approximately ¾ inches). With some light surface scratches to the exterior surfaces and underbase consistent with gentle use and age. The bottom interior of the vase with two subtle irregular fold lines inherent in the making. With some light surface soiling to the recessed contours of the decorative foliate elements. The vase displays a deeply saturated cobalt blue coloration, and an elegant silhouette achieved from the graceful lines of the leaf elements. Catalogue Note

The “Tristan” vase was produced by René Lalique’s glassworks in Alsace-Lorraine at the height of the firm’s technical production and skill.  The present example is one of only a few known examples of the "Tristan" model executed in a deep cobalt blue hue.
