Condition
Overall in good condition. There is a small area of localized restoration to one of the outer square-form feet with some slight over-painting, possibly covering a small edge fleck. This restoration is sensitively executed, and extends around the front and side contours of the foot, but does not extend below to the underbase. Along the outer triangular-form rim of the vase, there is a fine semi-circular fissure to the glaze at the outer edge. This was likely an irregularity in the bisque that became slightly more pronounced after glazing and firing. This abrasion appears stable and shallow, and appears old as evidenced by embedded surface soiling. There is a similar short and stable fissure to the underside of one of the square-form feet (1/4 inch in length), which also appears inherent in the firing. With some occasional minor surface and glaze imperfections inherent in the making, and with a few small and minor traces of surface residue. A strong example of the model displaying a particularly rich glaze with bold and artistic charcoaling used to define the handles, rim and base. The charcoaling also serves as a strong decorative focal point within the glaze drips below the handles.
