Condition
Overall in very good condition. The patinated bronze surfaces throughout display a rich brown patina with subtle green highlights. The bronze surfaces throughout show minimal surface wear, light rubbing to the patina on the high points of the design, and light surface soiling to the recessed contours consistent with age and gentle use. The underside of the top lid and interior of the inkstand with scattered traces of surface oxidation consistent with use. With period clear glass inkwell, which has several small and minor edge flecks along the interior rim and traces of ink or surface residue along the bottom interior. The underside with a few small traces of red pigment. A beautiful example of this highly sculptural and desirable inkstand model. Please note the following provenance for this lot: Historical Design, New York; Acquired from the above by the present owner.
