Condition

Overall with the usual minor nicks, dent, scratches to veneer consistent with age and use. Tarnishing to gilt bronze. The lock escutcheon of the cylinder has a brighter color than the rest of the bronze and we suspect it has been regilded. There is no gilding left to the gallery, consistent with extensive cleaning. The pullout writing surface show restored cracks to both sides with brown varnish coating to hide the cracks. The green leather with the usual scratches and nicks consistent wtih use. Tarnishing and dirt to gilt bronze mounts.
