Condition

As stated in the catalogue description, one horse is brown patinated bronze while the other is a dark brown patinated bronze with a green hue; both are mounted on later marble plinths and the undersides of the bronzes have not been examined. Taking into consideration the quality of the cast, we have determined that the casts are post-mortem but not of recent manufacture and were cast by a notarized manufacturer. The bronzes are with usual light scratches, surface dirt especially to crevices, and wear to patina of bronze especially to areas of high relief.
