surmounted by a molded sarrancolin opéra marble top above a frieze drawer and above two long drawers san traverse
Condition
Overall in good condition with the usual minor scratches, dents and nicks to veneers and carcass consistent with age and use. Tarnishing to gilt-bronze in places.
The marble with the usual minor chips to edges, scratches to surface consistent with age and use. Marble showing old restoration, now with visible iron rods to undersides for strengthening of restoration.
The lock of the frieze drawer and upper drawer are lacking.

The present commode is based on the 18th century pair of commodes made by Jean-François Leleu (1729-1807) for the bedchamber of the Duchesse de Bourbon in Paris, delivered on May 1, 1773.
