4 parts in one volume, 4to (216 x 165mm.), double-page engraved title to first part and printed titles to each, 62 double-page maps, mostly engraved by A. de Winter, [Pastoureau, Sanson VIII-F, III-F, I-F, & II-F], contemporary calf, occasional light browning at edges (more so towards end of book), map "Les Isles Antilles" shaved at upper margin, one or two small tears, binding slightly worn, joints splitting

Catalogue Note

In this edition the maps are copied from those first published as separate parts in 1648, 1652, 1656 and 1657. Pastoureau notes that this "édition Hollandaise" was published in Utrecht, probably by François Halma who was responsible also for the Utrecht and Amsterdam editions in 1692, 1699, 1700 and 1710.
