Blackmer 1403 (Italian edition); Droulia1531; not in Abbey or Atabey], without the printed wrappers (which have the title and imprint), plates slightly spotted or soiled at edges, binding somewhat marked and soiled, spine slightly rubbed

Catalogue Note
These fine plates depict the battle of Navarino, which effectively ended Ottoman resistance to Greek independence. Fought off the west coast of the Peloponnese on 20 October 1827 it resulted in the destruction of the allied Turkish-Egyptian fleet by a British-French-Russian fleet commanded by Vice Admiral Sir Edward Codrington.
