Catalogue Note
Rare first edition of this colourful and lively description of a journey to the Holy Land by a Franciscan monk in 1725. Father Juan travelled to Alexandria, Cairo, Cyprus, Lebanon, the Holy Land and Crete, where his ship was captured by Libyan pirates. He was then taken to Tripoli and enslaved, eventually returning to Spain via Malta.
