Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 3 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. With considerable surface soiling to the recessed contours of the shade leading and glass. The Turtle-Back tiles all appear to be original and undisturbed, with no visible cracks. Four Turtle-Back tiles with very small and shallow surface flecks located at the corner or perimeter edge. One of these flecks shows very subtle movement to the touch and as a precaution would benefit from being stabilized by a Tiffany or glass conservator. The patinated bronze surfaces of the base display an exceptionally deep and rich russet brown and dark brown patina. The bronze surfaces throughout with a few light surface scratches, abrasions, rubbing and surface soiling consistent with age and use. One small area of the cushion with a small area of patina loss (¾ x ¾ inch). The riser unit below the sockets with surface wear and abrasions with associated losses to the patina. All of the sockets and switches appear to be original and undisturbed. The period finial with corresponding patina to the base, and with a small surface indentation to the side contour. A strong example of the model displaying vigorously mottled glass and a beautiful selection of Turtle-Back Tiles with strong color. When seen with remitted light these tiles impart a deep emerald green glow. When seen with reflected light the iridescence on these displays strongly saturated colors in a range of jewel tones.
