Condition

Overall in very good condition. The Lily shades, which are all in excellent condition, are a particularly well-matched assembled set. When viewed in reflected light, the iridized surfaces of the shades display an exceptionally strong range of jewel-tone colors, displaying hues in purple, magenta and aqua. Three of the shades with a few pin-head size surface flecks (1/16 inch) to the top aperture rims, which are exceedingly minor and entirely concealed when the shades are installed in the base. The gilt “Lily” base appears to be in untouched original condition, and would probably benefit from a sensitive cleaning to revitalize the gilt bronze surfaces throughout. The gilt bronze surfaces with considerable surface soiling throughout, some scattered traces of surface residue, and with a few small traces of light surface oxidation. The largest area of surface oxidation is one small circular area (½ inch diameter) on one of the lily pads which is visible in the catalogue illustration. The base retains its original gilt bronze “lily pad” switch. All of the interior porcelain sockets and gilt metal floral bobeches appear to be original and undisturbed. One of the six screws securing the base plate on the underside of the base is presently missing. A very attractive example of this iconic model displaying an exceptionally strong and colorful set of lily shades.
