Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate but fail to convey the three-dimensionality of the original. Condition: The patination to the bronze surface is good, there is some rubbing to the extremities, which reveal a heightened gilt area, however this does not detract and is not immediately discernable. The piece would benefit from a professional clean as there is residual surface dirt. There are some minor old marks and scratches conistent with the material employed and the age of the piece. The polished slate base is chipped and has marks throughout. It would be easy to replace this component. It is likely that this work was installed in the Paris town house of Gunter Sachs with the other work by Martin to be offered in the sale. This work is of a scale that may require professional installation. The weight is 434KG.
