each stamped in the block 'Mucha' and 'F. Champenois, Paris' and either 'Chocolat Masson' or 'Chocolat Mexicain', each with three months printed to the reverse

Condition

Advertising at top and part of calendar cut at top and lower edges of three of the four sheets (top intact to July-September sheet). Framers pencil marks to reverse. Each sheet taped to mount twice on top edge, mount not acid free and has discoloured the card considerably. Tear to the lower edge of December (Autumn). However, warm colours and gold tones make for an attractive decorative set.

One of Mucha's most popular subjects, 'The Four Seasons' calendars were printed in 1896, 1897, and 1900. A further two sets of designs also exist.
