Description
- Giltwood Pine or Poplar
- Various sizes, smallest: 13.5cm high., 16.5cm wide; 5¼in., 6½in, largest: 49cm. high., 34cm. wide; 1ft. 7¼in., 1ft. 1½in.
together with a French carved stained boxwood frame, first quarter 18th century; not illustrated
Condition
Lombard frame measuring 39.5cm. high., 27.5cm. wide; 1ft. 3½in., 10¾in., redecorated with two breaks to the frame, one at the bottom and one to the top.
Venetian frame measuring 27cm. length., 17cm wide; 10½in., 6¾in., old minor marks, chips and scratches consistent with age.
A Neapolitan frame measuring 13.5cm high., 16.5cm wide; 5¼in., 6½in., Old minor marks, chips and scratches.
A Genoese frame measuring 49cm. high., 34cm. wide; 1ft. 7¼in., 1ft. 1½in., Provenance: The Giuseppe Rossi Collection, 12th March 1999, Sotheby's, London, Vol. IV, lot 1642. Generally in good condition. Old minor marks, chips and scratches consistent with age.
Three other frames one measuring 25.5cm. high., 21.5cm. wide; 10in., 8½in.,with old minor marks, stains and scratches throughout consistent with age, the other 27.5cm high., 33.5cm wide. 10¾in., 1ft. 1¼in., with old minor marks and scratches consistent with age, and one measuring 27.5cm. high., 22.5cm. wide; 10¾in., 8¾in.
Italian frame containing silk embroidered picture, 33.5cm. high, 23cm. wide; 1ft.1¼in., 9in. with two small cracks to the frame, old marks, chips and stains throughout consistent with age and use.
The French frame measuring 43cm. x 36cm.; 1ft.5in. x 1ft.2in. in overall good condition.
