Description

  • ceramic and gold-mount
  • 7.5cm by 6cm by 3.5cm; 3in. by 23/8in by 1 3/8in.
probably painted by Carlo Anreiter, the cover, interior and base  with crowded polychrome scenes of Solomon and the Queen of Sheba among camels, the sides painted in iron-red and giding with a continuous sea scene of putti at play among sea serpents and hippocampi, with later gilt-metal mounts (some chips)

some chips to one side, below mounts; very little wear
