Description
- Giltwood, pine, poplar
- 194cm high., 138cm. wide; 6ft. 4½in., 4ft. 6¼in.
the pierced cresting carved with branches, rocaille, foliage and berries above a foliate entwined border and a rectangular plate within a moulded frame carved with berried leaves, scallopshells, conch shells, foliage and scrolls
Condition
In otherwise good conserved condition. Recommended. The gilding has been restored in areas but the gilding on the inner frame is original and the mirror has not been regilt as stated in the catalogue. The gilding is slightly dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. Very attractive detail to carving. Some old very minor restored breaks to carving which have been well executed and not too noticeable. However, there is a small old repair in the middle on the right side which is lacking gilding and would benefit from some touching up. There is some very minor degredation to the mercury on the old plate but this is most attractive.
