Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 18-20 cracked tiles dispersed throughout. The shade leading is beautifully rendered with very fine lines, displaying a rich russet brown patina. The patinated bronze surfaces of the small “Tree” base with some light surface wear and abrasions, and with surface soiling throughout to the recessed contours of the design consistent with age and gentle use. All three sockets and paddle switches appear to be original and undisturbed. With one old felt glide on the underside of the base. With period finial showing gentle surface wear; the central finial knop possibly re-stabilized on the underside. The shade displays a highly artistic and naturalistic glass selection most notably distinguished by the use of “Confetti” glass (or fractured glass) throughout the background passages, and vigorously mottled glass articulating the daffodil blossoms. The glass selection imparts the shade with great visual interest and depth. The shade and base pairing is quite successful and well proportioned.
