Condition
Overall in very good condition. The bronze surfaces throughout retain a rich russet brown and dark green patina, showing gentle rubbing and light surface soiling in some of the recessed contours consistent with age and use with a few occasional traces of surface oxidation and discoloration. The glass panels are in good condition and appear to be original and undisturbed. The interior of the box with some isolated areas of surface dirt and oxidation. The interior rims showing gentle rubbing, traces of surface oxidation and discoloration. A beautiful example of this rare model.

Catalogue Note
The present model is an example of the "Etched Metal and Glass" design in a rarely-seen leaf pattern. Illustrated in Alastair Duncan's Tiffany Lamps and Metalware on page 469, its name remains unknown. The beaded border and lack of a model number indicate that it is an early example, before the production of Tiffany desk sets became fully standardized and extensively marketed.
