Condition
Overall in very good condition. The bronze surfaces throughout retain a rich russet brown and dark green patina, showing gentle rubbing and light surface soiling in some of the recessed contours consistent with age and use with a few occasional traces of surface oxidation and discoloration. The candlestick, match safe, and inkwell are affixed to the tray. The glass panels in the inkwell, seal and match safe are in good condition and appear to be original and undisturbed. The interior lid of the ink pot with surface oxidation and discoloration. The inkwell with period clear glass liner. This lot is offered with a box of period matches shown in the catalogue illustration. This rare set displays beautifully with rich complementary patinas to all of its components.
