Overall in very good condition. The bronze surfaces throughout retain a rich patina, showing gentle rubbing at the high points and top and light surface soiling in some of the recessed contours consistent with age and use. The perimeter lower border of the top with a few very small and shallow surface indentations. The favrile mosaic glass inlays are beautifully iridized and display vibrant coloration throughout when viewed in person. The glass inlays all appear all original and undisturbed, with some occasional minor edge wear and associated minute edge losses. The removable bronze inkwell with a small bruise to the upper rim (possibly restored) approximately about one inch in length. Immediately below this bruise there is a fractured seam extending one inch with a very minor seam separation. With surface soiling to the top interior rim of the removable bronze inkwell, likely from use. The period clear glass inkwell with some minor surface staining, also likely from gentle use. A beautiful example of this rare model displaying an artistic and well varied mosaic glass selection. The iridized glass surfaces are far more striking and colorful when viewed in person than seen in the catalogue illustration.
