Overall in very good condition. The patinated bronze surfaces display a rich brown patina showing minor rubbing, surface wear, surface scratches and rubbing to the patina most notably to the collar at the top of the handle consistent with age and gentle use. The enamel portion of the mirror displays brilliantly saturated tones with very nice luminosity. The enamel with a few minor and stable stress fractures along the perimeter contours. With one sliver size loss to the enameling measuring ¼ inch in length. This loss is adjacent to the outer perimeter edge of the enameled panel and is only visible on very close inspection. The onyx handle is in good condition with some minor surface dirt and rubbing from handling. The metal rivets on the handle are slightly uneven which appears inherent in the making and each with rubbing and associated losses to the patina. The mirror to the reverse side appears to be original and is in good condition with some minor discolorations throughout that are consistent with the aging process of the material. A wonderful jewel-like object which displays a vast variety of saturated colors and intricate detailing to the enameled decoration.
