  • height 5 ft 8 in
• 6 1/2-inch dial, mask spandrels, gilt chapter ring with Roman numerals spaced by fleur-de-lys, aperture for date below 12 o'clock, pierced openwork hour hand, break arch with seconds, matte center with plaque engraved with maker's name • single train movement with six turned pillars, anchor escapement • the case with break arch top with molded sound fret, the hood side panels also with pierced sound frets, surmounted by three urn finials, brass-capped pilasters, rectangular trunk door, plinth with stringing • dial signed Anthony Banister, London

Condition

Dwarf clocks are rare Potential bidders should bear in mind that this clock will require complete restoration to the case. The case has numerous veneer issues including crazing, lifting of the veneer, splits to the veneer and losses, The hood also has several areas on both sides where there are losses to the veneer and include the left column which shows a split in the middle. Some warping to the to door panel molding, a very large piece of wood lacking from back left of base which will have to be made. Clock runs, but will require overhaul
