Condition
These chromogenic prints, on glossy double-weight paper, are in generally excellent condition, except as noted below. The colors remain rich and saturated with no apparent fading.
'Für Immer Burgen' - This print is editioned '2/3 + 1' in pencil on the reverse. Also on the reverse are the following notations in pencil: 'PL28797,' 'print 1098,' and '97-101-2/3.' Upon close examination in raking light, the following are visible: 2 small creases in the upper and lower margins; a very slight crease along the left edge of the print; and fingerprints at the periphery of the image. This photograph is not framed, and it was not included in the Guggenheim Museum or Palm Beach Photographic Centre exhibitions.
'Smoker' - This print is editioned '1/10 + 1' in ink on the reverse. Also on the reverse are the following notations in ink: 'Chemistry,' 'PL 992,' 'AP' (crossed out), and 'print 797.' Upon close examination in raking light, small soft creases are visible in the upper and lower left corners where the print is hinged on the reverse. This photograph is framed, and it was included in the Guggenheim Museum exhibition.
'Arndt Sitting' - This print is editioned '4/10 +1' in ink on the reverse. Also on the reverse are the following notations in ink: 'PL 891' and 'print 794.' This photograph is framed and there is an Andrea Rosen Gallery label on the reverse. This photograph was included in the Guggenheim Museum exhibition.
'Lutz & Alex, Schwanzgriff (holding cock)' - This print is flush-mounted to aluminum. On the reverse of the aluminum mount, there is a xerox copy of the signature, title, annotations, and edition on the reverse of the print. This print is editioned '2/3 +1.' Also on the reverse are the following notations: 'pl. 08/97' and 'print 4/97.' Upon close examination in high raking light, a few long superficial scratches and some scuffs are visible overall. This photograph is framed, and it was included in the Guggenheim Museum and Palm Beach Photographic Centre exhibitions.
'Cornel, Zurich' - This print is editioned '1/10 +1' in ink on the reverse. Also on the reverse are the following notations in ink: 'pl 993,' 'print Feb 84,' and 'AP' (crossed out). This photograph is framed and there is an Andrea Rosen Gallery label on the reverse. This photograph was included in the Guggenheim Museum exhibition.
