the photographer's estate stamp, signed in ink by Samuel Bourdin, the photographer's son and executor, on the reverse, framed, circa 1952, probably printed in the 1950s or 1960s

Provenance

PaceWildensteinMacGill Gallery, New York, 1999

Condition

This early print, on semi-glossy double-weight paper, is in generally good to very good condition. In high raking light, a 2-inch horizontal crease is visible in the center-left portion of the image. This crease is not immediately apparent when viewing the print in its framed presentation, and it does not appear to break the emulsion. Visible upon close examination are the following: a pencil-point-sized loss of emulsion in the upper left quadrant of the image and a few small soft creases that do not break the emulsion. The lower left margin corner is creased, and the lower margin is somewhat rippled with 2 tiny losses of emulsion apparent. When examined under ultraviolet light, this print appears to fluoresce.
