This work is in good condition overall, as the canvas is clean and taut. Pin sized paint loss was apparent under the ultraviolet light examination – located primarily in the middle left register (underneath the first dancer on the left and yellow background), along with delicate craquelures on the impasto of the headpiece worn by the first girl on the right, but the paint layers are stable and sound. Indications of restoration was however not evident under the ultraviolet light inspection. The colours of the actual painting are more vibrant and less dim than the catalogue illustration. Framed.
