Condition

Original canvas, which is slightly undulated and loose on the stretcher. There is a small tear to the lower right corner and two small holes along the upper edge. There are scattered chips of paint loss to the upper quadrants and a line running horizontally across the canvas approximately 5cm below the upper edge with associated paint loss. There are lines of craquelure throughout. The paint surface is slightly dirty, especially to the impasto. UV light reveals no apparent retouching. Held in ivory painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
