Catalogue Note

By the 1890s, Kiselev was immensely popular with collectors from Moscow, St Petersburg and Odessa. His patrons also included Grand Duke George Mikhailovich, who bought another work from this year, Po Tereku (1895). The present work is characteristically dated to the day, and shares the same bright palette and fresh greens of other landscapes from this period, Derevnya na beregu reki (1893, Zaporozhye Art Museum) and Senokos (1894, Sochi Art Museum).
