Condition

Original canvas, which is unevenly stretched in the top left corner. The paint surface is dirty with a layer of discoloured varnish. There is a small pinhole to the upper left of the sail, with a few further groups of minor pinholes to the middle. There are light abrasions to the edges, mainly to the lower left edge with associated specks of paint loss. UV light reveals minor retouching to the upper left corner, however a thick layer of varnish prevents from further examination. Held in a gold painted frame with mouldings. Unexamined out of frame.
