Condition
Original canvas, which is slightly undulated at the top. The paint surface is slightly dirty. There are a few areas of fine craquelure in places. UV light reveals an area of retouching to the centre of the composition and the figures to the left of the group. There are some sweaping strokes of crude retouching to the left side of the canvas and further spots of retouching elsewhere. Held in a modern gold painted frame. Unexamined out of frame.

Catalogue Note
The present lot was purchased from the artist whilst he was in the south of France. With the money he received from the sale of his pictures, Gluckmann was able to finance his emigration to the United States.
