  • the oklad Moscow, 1896, with initials of unidentified workmaster EAK
  • Tempera on wood, gilded silver, silver, enamel
  • 12 1/4 x 10 1/2 in.
  • 31.1 x 26.7 cm
the gilded silver oklad chased and repoussé with a realistic landscape and drapery in high relief, the borders set with brightly colored bands enameled with floral ornament, also with halos enameled with floral ornament against a stippled gilt ground

Condition

the icon surface with some losses from the back of the oklad; the enameled spandrels slightly loose and with some small losses
