Condition

Delamarre: The canvas is unlined and there are bumps throughout. The surface of the work is in fair condition, with stretcher bar marks, apparent craquelure, and pigment separation visible mostly in the lower half of the picture. Under UV: the varnish fluoresces green and makes it difficult to read the surface. English School: signed with initials VP and dated 91 lower right. 12 3/4 by 9 1/2 in.; 32.4 by 24.1 cm. The surface of the work is in good condition. An area of possible repaint near the top center that reflects differently. A surface abrasion upper right. Under UV: the varnish fluoresces green and makes it difficult to read the surface though there is a small area of inpainting visible at the center of the top edge.
