- Printing-out-paper print, in 2 parts
2 printing-out-paper prints, comprising 'Lily of the Valley' and 'Bean, Giant Windsor,' each initialed and titled in pencil on the reverse, framed, circa 1900 (2)
Condition
These early prints, on double-weight printing-out-paper with characteristic heavy glossy surface, are in generally very good to excellent condition. The reverse of each print is hinged at its corners to a modern textured mount. These photographs have not been examined out of their frames. The reverse of each mount has a window for viewing the reverse of the photograph.
'Lily of the Valley' - The corners are bumped, with the tip of the top paper-ply lifted slightly. Near the upper edge, a 1/4-inch thin matte deposit of original retouching appears to have darkened somewhat. At the lower edge, there is a pencil-point-sized impression that does not appear to break the emulsion.
'Bean, Giant Windsor' - The corners are bumped, and there is a 3/4-inch crease in the lower right corner that breaks the emulsion. In high raking light, a few soft and sharp handling creases are visible, although none appears to break the emulsion. There is a modern inventory label affixed to the reverse of the print.
