Condition
This half-plate daguerreotype is in fine condition. Close examination shows unobtrusive blue-green tarnish around the periphery, mostly along the bottom and left edges of the image. Several very small, faint, circular warm-toned spots can be seen when the plate is examined very closely. The plate has an old, possibly original, paper seal. The case is worn and separated at the hinge.
