Description

  • Robert Frank
  • 'ST. LOUIS' (RAILROAD BRIDGE DIPTYCH)
  • Gelatin silver print
signed, titled, and dated in ink in the margin and annotated 'Mississippi 1949' in ink on the reverse, 1948, printed in 1978

Condition

This print, on double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in generally very good condition. There is creasing in the right margin edge and lower corners. This does not affect the print. In raking light, a 1 1/2-inch linear indentation, not breaking the emulsion, is visible in the left image. On the reverse, '8-61' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil, and 'P/K A-95 (III)' is in ink on a small circular adhesive label.
