signed, titled, and dated in ink in the margin, 1955, possibly printed in the 1960s or later (The Americans, p. 163; Looking In, pp. 302 and 481 and Contact #77)
Condition
This print, on double-weight paper with a slight surface sheen, has a 2-by-2-inch area of what appears to be airbrushing in the upper right corner of the print. The edges are rubbed, and the margin corners are bumped and creased. In the upper left margin corner, there is a 1/2-by-1/4-inch area of emulsion loss. There is also creasing in the margin at the left edge. Random black pinpoint-sized deposits, possibly ink, are visible in the upper and right margins.
There is light soiling from handling on the reverse, as well as a one-inch masking tape remnant at the upper edge, center. Also on the reverse, '8-237' (written above a marked out '8-222') and '20' are written in pencil, as well as the annotation 'P/K A-24 (III)' in ink on a small circular adhesive label.
