Tirage argentique d'époque. Signé au crayon en bas à droite. Au verso, avec le tampon du photographe 'Val de Grâce' (Manford M9).

Condition

This print is generally in very good condition. A very rich print. Matte surface, heavy slightly yellow paper. With light silvering in the dark areas. With very light traces of superficial scratching visible in raking light only and with a few tiny white spots in the upper portion. With a very fine straight trace of glue (?) near the lower left corner.

Catalogue Note

Entre 1933 et 1936, Man Ray réalise de nombreuses études photographiques sur le corps humain en interaction avec un objet. Dans la présente composition, il recouvre le torse d’une jeune femme, non-identifiée, par un moulage du torse de la Vénus de Médicis. Le corps humain est alors remplacé par celui de la statue antique.
