Condition
generally excellent condition, small hole towards the bottom of one stick, sticks and guards would benefit from professional cleaning.

Catalogue Note
Charles Hairon (Bordeaux 1880-Paris 1962) était un scupteur et professeur d'Art dans de nombreux établissements parisiens, entre autres à l'école nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs rue d'Ulm. Il produisit de nombreuses œuvres pour l'État ou une clientèle privée, en divers matériaux, qu'il exposa à partir de 1904 et tout au long de sa carrière : boîte Art Nouveau en ivoire conservée au musée d'Orsay (1910), fumoir d'une ambassade française avec l'artiste Jean Dunand (1925), important bas-relief pour la façade du Torcadéro (1937). Il obtient la distinction d'officier d'académie en 1912, puis est fait chevalier de la Légion d'honneur en 1926 et officier du même ordre en 1956.
