Condition

The panel consists of a single, uncradled plank which is flat and stable and beveled on all four edges. The paint surface has been recently cleaned and is under a fresh, clear varnish. The gilding to the right and the face of the Madonna have been somewhat rubbed and the ground is exposed in areas, particularly on the nose, and the reds in the drapery are a little thinned. Some very minor, pin dot retouches are visible on the nose and in the Child's drapery.
