The paint surface has a firm relining. The paint surface is secure and in fair condition, if a little flat, under an old yellowed varnish. Some old discoloured retouchings are visible to the naked eye in the sky as is some strengthening to the pair of donkeys centre left. Inspection under UV light is impeded by the varnish although the aforementioned retouching works do fluoresce. Offered in a gilt wood and plaster frame with a painted inset in good condition.
