Condition

The canvas has an old thin relining. The paint surface is secure and overall in fair condition although there are some signs of abrasion in the browner pigments. Old retouching work is visible to the naked eye in the sky and this is confirmed under UV light which also reveals some fairly extensive old retouching work in the darker abraded pigments in the foreground. Offered in a gilt wood and plaster frame in good condition if a little rubbed.
