Condition
The support consists of a single, stable sheet of copper set into a wooden casing.
The paint surface is secure and in good condition with the details nicely preserved under an even varnish.
Inspection under UV light reveals some very minor scattered old retouching work

Catalogue Note
The composition is derived from Pieter Brueghel the Younger's Village Scene with Peasants Butchering a Pig which he repeated in a number of versions (see K. Ertz, under literature, pp. 598-600, nos 648-664). Here the butchered pig has been replaced with a sheaf of corn.
