Description

  • Cornelis van der Voort
  • a Portrait of a lady in a white ruff and lace headress
  • oil on panel

Condition

The support consists of two vertical panels cradled to the reverse. The paint surface is secure with nice details in the ruff and face, although it is rather thin, under an old yellowed varnish. Both panel joins are evident in the paint surface, as seen in the catalogue illustration, and old retouching work is visible along these lines. Inspection under UV light is thoroughly impeded by the aforementioned varnish. Offered a stained wood and plaster frame in good condition.
