Catalogue Note
Corrodi came to Italy around 1832, eventually settling in Rome. He was well-known for his Italian views and his patrons included Tsar Nicholas of Russia, the Grand Duke of Tuscany and other aristocrats. Another version of this view was sold London, Sotheby's, 8 July 2009, lot 81.
